Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), CAS 6422-86-2, formula C₂₄H₃₈O₄, MW 390.50 g/mol. A main plasticizer with excellent electrical and thermal properties. Its volume resistivity is 10–20 times higher than DOP. It has good growth effect and low volatility, especially in cable materials. Widely used in products requiring heat resistance and high insulation. An ideal plasticizer for 70°C cable materials and other PVC products requiring volatile resistance.

DOTP offers good cold resistance, heat resistance, extraction resistance, volatile resistance, and high growth rate. Products show excellent durability, soapy water resistance, and low softness. Suitable as a plasticizer for PVC resin, such as PVC cable material requiring high insulation. DOTP can be mixed with DOP in any proportion. When used in plasticizing paste, it can reduce viscosity and increase storage life.
